Cool Brown Eye Makeup

15:20 Unknown 2 Comments

Typically I go for warm toned eyeshadows but in the theme of changing my makeup up a little for the new year I tried out a more cool toned look (although still a little warmed up!)

Read on to see the look...

So I thought I'd show you with and without eyeliner and mascara.

And this is showing the look pretty up close and I really like it, but I do think I need the eyeliner to make this look work.

To complete the look I went with plenty of bronzer to warm my face up and a pale pink lip to let the eyes be the focus of this makeup look.

And a little selfie to finish the post.

If you would like to see the products I used, or how I created this look then leave me a comment below. Also let me know if you like this look on me, I'm interested to know.

My Perfume Collection

17:58 Unknown 0 Comments

Hello all! So today I thought I would show you my perfume collection, at the moment it is pretty small and in the last few weeks two of the fragrances shown have ran out (very sad!) which is why they are empty in the picture. But I can tell that I will one day have quite an extensive amount of fragrance as I am starting to get a little obsessed - I already have my eye on a few that I just 'need' to have.

So if you want to see what perfume I love at the moment, read on...

Dolce - Dolce and Gabbana
So this perfume was a gift from my boyfriend for my 18th birthday and I was so over the moon to receive it and felt very spoilt as it is the most expensive one in my collection. I really love to wear it for day and night, but special occasions mostly as I really don't want to waste it!

Notes: white flowers, neroli leaf, papaya flower, white amaryllis, narcissus, white water lily, cashmere and musk.

Ma Vie Pour Femme - Hugo Boss
Another 18th birthday present, this time from my mum. This may well be my favourite in the collection because it just smells AMAZING and I love it. It lasts sooo long on my skin and I can smell it on my clothes days later, its quite strong and intense which I really like and I think it would be suitable all year round. If I didn't have such a little bottle I would wear this every day.

Notes: Cactus blossom, pink floral bouquet with rose bud, cedarwood.

Lady Million - Paco Rabanne
I picked this perfume up last time I went on holiday at duty free. I decided to get it as my best friend at the time used to wear it every day and it smelled so good, and it was pretty signature in that you could smell the fragrance before you saw my friend and you knew it was her. Its super strong but lasts really well because of it. I feel like I wouldn't want to wear this everyday but for a night out or special occasion I think its so good and it really does smell great.

Notes: Citron, raspberry, neroli, orange flower, jasmine, gardenia, patchouli and honey.

Guess Seductive - Guess
This was a gift from a few years ago and when I first got it I didn't like it. Then I went back to it and oh my goodness I loved it and to this day don't understand how I didn't like it and kept it in a drawer for so long. This is the first one that I finished in the last couple weeks and I'm devastated but I'm pretty sure I will be repurchasing this because I love it. Its really fresh but still sweet and has fairly good staying power but not as good as previous scents.

Notes: Bergamot, blackcurrant, pear, jasmine, orange flower, orris, vanilla, olibanum and cashmere wood.

Tommy Girl - Tommy Hilfiger
My mum bought me this one as a kind of sentimental gift as this was the first perfume she ever used. I like it but wouldn't say I love it, I've had this a few years and have only just finished it up as I only really used now and again for a change. Its clean and fresh and there's nothing too complicated about this scent and I guess its one that has been around a while, I feel like its more of a grandma or older lady kind of scent than for an 18 year old but I think its nice enough.

Notes: Blackcurrant bud, apple, tangerine, mandarin, spearmint, heather, honeysuckle, violet, rose, magnolia, jasmine, lily, sandalwood, cedarwood.

Radiance - Britney Spears
Being totally honest I picked this one up because it was cheap and I needed something basic to throw on when I didn't want to use any of my nice perfumes up on a day that didn't need them - you know for days when you are just popping to the supermarket or doing housework. So I ordered it online without smelling it and was pleasantly surprised that it was quite nice. It doesn't have much depth and it doesn't stay around for very long but its still a nice light fragrance that does what I ordered it for.

Notes: Wild berries and soft, dewy petals, mixed with tuberose, jasmine, orange blossom and iris.

And that's my perfume collection. Please leave me a comment if you have any of these and what you think or if you have any suggestions for me to try as I am very eager to try more.

I hope you liked this post and there will more beauty posts coming soon so follow or add me to your circle to keep updated on my blog.

My Evening Skincare Routine

16:39 Unknown 2 Comments

So I am pretty bad at maintaining a skincare routine of any sort but over the last few months I have introduced some products to my skin that have changed that.

Keep reading to find out more!

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
So first things first - I take my makeup off using this micellar water. I simply soak two or three cotton pads with the water then rub over my face and eyes until all the makeup has been removed. I really like this for taking my makeup off and I find it better than using face wipes as I have done in the past.

Sanctuary Spa 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask
Some nights I will then apply a mask, but not every night as 1) I am pretty lazy and 2) I'm sure that's probably not the best for your skin. My favourite at the moment is this one from Sanctuary, it heats up as you apply it and I find that after using it my face feels very clean and soft. I just apply it onto dry skin, wait 5 minutes and then remove with a warm flannel. Works a charm.

No7 Beautiful Skin Hot Cloth Cleanser
So this isn't my favourite cleanser as it doesn't remove makeup, therefore this is the one part of the routine that I am looking to change when I find a product that I want to try. However this cleanser is still really good if you've taken the extra step and removed your makeup. You just apply to dry skin, hold muslin cloth (included) under warm/hot water and wring it out and place over face and let the heat work its magic. Leaves skin feeling clean and super soft.

Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief
Okay, so this and the next product are sometimes used as one or the other, or occasionally both, or very occasionally neither. Normally this depends on two things: 1) what condition my skin is in, and 2) how long it is until I will be going to bed (because of final step).

Anyway, this product is so good. I really like applying it before makeup as well as using it as part of this routine. Its very hydrating and smoothing, you can apply as much as needed and it works great. Its neither a serum or a moisturiser - I like to think of it as somewhere in between.

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturiser
This product is very thick and creamy and so I only like to apply this as part of an evening routine as nobody would want to wear this underneath makeup (well, I don't think so). It is such a lovely moisturiser and if you had very dry skin this would be a saviour, I like to apply this when its going to be a few hours until I go to sleep to give this time to soak in before the next step.

Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado
I love this eye cream, again as with the other Kiehl's product it is very thick and creamy and because of that it is lovely for keeping your under eyes looking good as it has all night to sink in and moisturise.  Just a very lovely product that I swear by for my eyes now.

Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate
Okay, so there is no way to describe this that does it justice. It is amazing! Firstly, the smell is incredible and is perfect for being calming before bed. Then you wake up in the morning and you are so shocked that only 2-3 drops of this stuff can make your skin so soft and smooth. I love this so much!

L'occitane Shea Butter
Last but by no means least, this lip balm is so good. I apply it all throughout the day, basically whenever I need it or get chance to apply it. But I like to make sure that before I go to bed I apply a thick layer to get to work overnight, its just the best time for your lips as you aren't bothering them with lip products or eating and drinking. In the morning I wake up and my lips feel lovely and soft.

I hope you liked this post, it was a big longer than some of my others posts but I hope that you found it interesting to see what I used. I would love to know if you have any suggestions or if you are loving something you are using so please leave me a comment.

'Return of the Sexy' Too Faced Palette

12:12 Unknown 2 Comments

I wanted to ask santa for an eyeshadow palette but it took me a lot of research to find out which one I wanted to go for, this one attracted me because it was so versatile with a range of colours that were all still very wearable. Plus the bonus of a really good black kohl liner, lovely big mirror and a sample of eye primer (not pictured).

Here are some close ups of the colour sections - although it suggests looks that use a colour range at a time I still mix shades from the three together and create different looks.

On the back of the palette it gives some more information and the names of the shadows which you need if using the instructions sheets for particular looks. I also really like to know the names of shadows, although not too sure why!

This palette is so beautiful. The colours are beautiful, the shadows are really buttery and blend so well together and everything about this palette feels really luxurious. I love it a lot and don't find myself using anything but this for eye makeup at the moment.

Thank you for reading this post, it would be great if you could leave me a comment with any feedback or suggestions.

Drugstore Haul

13:45 Unknown 0 Comments

So I always think that the new year calls for a little update for your makeup collection so with that in mind I took a little trip to Boots to see what I could find.

This is what I picked up.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation - Shade 51 Light Vanilla

Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer - Shade Light

Soap & Glory Archery - Shade Hot Chocolate

Revlon Photoready 3D Volume Mascara - Shade Black

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick - Shade 08 Grand Cru

Revlon Colourburst Lacquer Balm - Shade 150 Enticing

No7 Precision Lip Pencil - Shade Soft Blush

I have managed to try a few of these products since buying them but not yet had chance to try them all out.

I was a bit dubious about trying one of the bourjois foundations as in a lot of reviews people mention that their shades are very yellow toned, which scared me as I am really pale. However after having tried it once it seems to be a pretty good colour match so I'm looking forward to wearing it some more.

Both soap and glory products are cult favourites so while they are on buy one get one half price I thought I would pick them up and see if they live up to the hype. Fingers crossed!

The mascara was a repeat purchase that I thought I'd pick up as a back up for when my current mascara runs out, it was also on special with the revlon lipstick so was worth getting then.

I have only worn the bourjois lipstick once and I can already tell I love it and it won't be off my lips for the foreseeable future. Amazing colour, great staying power and matte without drying your lips out. Love!

I love any revlon lip products so I was more than happy to pick up yet another colour and no doubt I will love this one too.

The lip pencil is also one I have in another colour and love so thought I would try this shade out for something different since I have been wearing a whole lot of red and plum shades lately.

So that is everything I picked up for my drugstore haul and I'm really pleased with it all and very excited to get trying it all out.

I hope you enjoyed this post, leave me a comment if you have tried any of these and what your opinion was or if you have any suggestions for other products I should try. Follow me for more beauty posts coming soon.

Thank you so much for reading!
