Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream

16:02 Unknown 0 Comments

Quite a while ago, when the hype for Elizabeth Arden's Eight Hour Cream began, I bought myself some because I wanted to know what all the fuss was about. However I was very disappointed, I assumed it was to use on your face or body and so I tried both, each with no luck. The packaging also gave little help, only advising to 'Apply liberally as often as necessary'  which didn't help me with how and where to apply the product.

Recently I've heard more people talking about the product again, however this time the beauty bloggers out there are saying use it on your lips. And what genius' they are! It has very quickly gone from the bottle of my pile to my number one lip product. It's amazing!

Last month I had seriously dry lips and this product was my saviour! Seriously with only one use my lips were already a million times better.

I simply use the product, labelled as cream but much more of a gel formula, as I would any other lip product. I put a small amount on my finger and then apply to the lips - I use a thick layer on a night or thin layers throughout the day.

This product has added very nicely to my Super Soft Lips post that I did a few weeks ago (link below) so go and check that out if you haven't already!

Birchbox April 2015

19:10 Unknown 2 Comments

At the moment I have had the idea to try out different beauty box subscriptions each month, following the success of my Latest In Beauty Glamour Edit (linked below). This month I went for the Birchbox as the theme of Royally Good was just too cute, and it meant the products that I would receive would be especially good - even better!

So to see what I got, read on...

The box comes with all the details about the products inside as well as promotions for other Birchbox related goods you might be interested in, I like this cause then you are getting lots of useful information about the products and what else I can get a hold of (like the very tempting Tatler edition Birchbox).

The products are hidden in a lovely bag which I can already think of a million uses for - very handy reusable packaging always appeals to me! Inside was...

So you get 5 top beauty picks and then an added extra with the clay mask and a discounted subscription to Tatler given that they are teaming up with them this month.

And that's everything, I am very much looking forward to trying all the products out, particularly the cult favourite Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish. If you want to pick up your April box then there's still time, just use the following link: www.birchbox.co.uk/invite/jf9mw

The Garage Spa

13:00 Unknown 2 Comments

As a present for my mum's birthday I decided to treat her to a spa day at The Garage Spa, which is the spa attached to The Morritt Arms where she got married.

I decided on the Country Lane Package which offerered:
45 minute rasul mud treatment
55 minute full body massage
Two course lunch from The Morritt's Restaurant
and full use of the facilities for the day.

This post includes some pictures that I took on the day and my thoughts at the end, enjoy...

(Property of The Garage Spa, all other pictures are my own)

This spa was honestly the best spa I have ever been to, it was amazing! Both me and my mum (who has been to considerably more spas than I have) were blown away and agreed we would love to go back.

The spa was quiet and relaxing, and the terrace is in the perfect location to catch all of the sunshine with only a touch of the wind - which explains the sunburn I'm suffering! I'm already looking for excuses to go back, particularly in the evening as the terrace hosts a wood burning fire and a fire pit alongside the outdoor hot tub which is surrounded by candle lanterns.

Both of the treatments we had were lovely and left us feeling super relaxed and our skin feeling beautiful.

We had such a great day and the location, the staff and the facilities all contributed to how amazing we felt. I would love to recommend this spa to everyone, however there is part of me that wants to keep it quiet as well so that everyone doesn't go and its stays as perfect as it was.

Thank you to The Garage Spa, we had an amazing day!

Face Of The Day

12:38 Unknown 2 Comments

Today I thought I'd give you a look at what makeup I've been going for on a day to day. I have blue eyes and have been favouring colours that make my eyes pop.

See what I've been using...

The main focus of this makeup look was this eyeshadow palette which holds a beautiful bronze with an orange hue - opposite on colour wheel to blue which makes colour pop. I also have been enjoying getting into brighter colours as the weather gets better and this lipstick is my favourite of the moment.

And here is what the makeup looks like. I personally really like it, it does a lot for my look but still looks subtle and is really simple to do.

What makeup look have you been enjoying at the moment? Let me know in the comments!

Sunday Night Essentials

18:20 Unknown 0 Comments

Firstly, apologies for not having a post to upload on Friday. Like everyone I have busy weeks and last week I just didn't have the time to get on and write a post for you.

However, I am back today with a post for you on the essentials to make your Sunday night relaxing before you start the week ahead.

Here we go...

My first must for a Sunday night is a bath, of course! When I really want to relax I will get some of my special bath products together and go all out to make it smell and look amazing, Here I used the Magic Wand Bubble Bar from Lush (link to post about Lush bath below) and it was bliss.

I think the way to make any bath more relaxing is with candles and music. I always go for scented candles and absolutely love having a warm scent throughout the house.

Music is very personal but for a Sunday night I always opt for something easy listening and chill so this night I chose Bon Iver - this album is just perfect!

And as this is a beauty blog there has got to be some beauty essentials! I always feel like Sunday is a day to give your skin a break from makeup and then on Sunday night I like to go in with a deep cleansing mask and then after washing it off in the bath I like to use a moisturising mask (as seen in post linked below) - kind of like setting your skin up for another week. I then use the rest of my products in my evening skincare (see full routine post linked below) and I'm done.

Finish with clean sheets and a fresh pair of pyjamas and you are good to go!
